Look! There’s a new bachelor’s degree in the sky! Hodges University has launched a bachelor’s degree concentration in aviation. Formally named the Bachelor in Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies in Aviation, it opens a pathway for students interested in becoming a commercial pilot. Officials Celebrate with Ribbon Cutting Punta Gorda, FL (Oct. 12, 2020) – The Charlotte County Airport Authority (Airport Authority) signified the reopening of Runway 15-33 with a ribbon cutting today. Airport Authority Commissioners were joined by airport management, congressional staff, lead engineering consultants and contractors. In addition to a 593-foot extension that increased the runway length to 6,281 feet, the rehabilitation included resurfacing, grooving, painting and adding LED sustainable lighting. PGD’s Commitment to Safety is Nonstop Punta Gorda, FL (July 9, 2020) – The Charlotte County Airport Authority (Airport Authority) announced the Punta Gorda Airport (PGD) passenger count for June 2020 totaled 93,767, with 47,846 departing passengers and 45,921 arriving passengers.
