 PGD Awarded $14.7 Million Federal GrantPUNTA GORDA, FL (Sept. 3, 2021) – The Charlotte County Airport Authority will be receiving $14,761,954 in funding from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for the rehabilitation and reconstruction of Runway 4-22. At 7,193 feet long, it is the longest of PGD’s three runways and is the primary runway used by commercial airliners.The runway was constructed in the 1940s and has endured decades of takeoffs and landings, so the center portion of the runway must be removed and reconstructed along its entire length.  The remaining portion of the runway will be milled and resurfaced. General Aviation Center Renamed PGD Air CenterPUNTA GORDA, FL (Aug. 20, 2021) – The General Aviation Center will be referred to as the PGD Air Center moving forward. The 13,000 square-foot PGD Air Center will house FBO operations, meeting and event space, a restaurant and bar, leasable office suites, pilot lounge and aircraft parking on a 510,000-square-foot ramp.At their Board Meeting on Thursday, the Charlotte County Airport Authority agreed with staff’s recommendation on renaming the facility.  Plans for a new FBO hangars, corporate hangars, T-hangars, taxiway and taxilane improvements are also underway.  Click here for the site plan rendering.#  #  # Return to PGD [...]
