Punta Gorda, FL (Jan. 17, 2018) – The Charlotte County Airport Authority (CCAA) announces its final Master Plan Update presentation will be held on Monday, Jan. 22, 2018 at 5 p.m. in the Myakka River Room at the Charlotte Harbor Event and Conference Center in Punta Gorda.
The Master Plan Update identifies proposed capital improvements, costs and potential funding for the Punta Gorda Airport over the next twenty years. This Master Plan Update of the 2008 version is being sponsored by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the Florida Department of Transportation and the CCAA. Development of the Master Plan Update launched in September 2016 and is scheduled for completion in 2018.
The FAA describes an airport master plan as a comprehensive study of an airport, describing the short-term, intermediate and long-term development plans needed to meet future aviation demand. A master plan provides the flexible framework needed to guide airport development to cost-effectively and efficiently satisfy aviation demand, while considering potential environmental and socioeconomic impacts and benefits.
The purpose of the presentation is to brief the CCAA Board and the public on the study’s findings and future potential projects. Additional public input will not be solicited at the meeting, as several opportunities for public involvement have been advertised and incorporated throughout previous meetings. The public is welcome to submit questions and comments online at www.flypgd.com under the “Master Plan” link.
The draft Master Plan Update and Executive Summary reports are also available online for review. Additional questions can be directed to Project Manager Ron Ridenour at Rridenour@flypgd.com.
Any person requiring reasonable accommodation at this meeting because of a disability or physical impairment should contact the CCAA at email@example.com or (941) 639-1101, at least two days before the meeting.
