PGD Tops Low-Cost Collaborators List
Punta Gorda, FL (June 6, 2019) – OAG, the world’s leading provider of travel data and insight, revealed its North America’s Airport Leaders 2019 report on June 4, 2019.
With an 11% growth rate, Punta Gorda Airport (PGD) ranked at the top of OAG’s list of medium-sized airports in the “Low-Cost Collaborators” category. 100% of the seat share at PGD is operated by low-cost carrier Allegiant Air.
“Healthy expansion among medium and small airport categories indicates there’s no limit on opportunity for North American airports when they make informed, data-driven development decisions,” said John Grant, senior analyst with OAG.
The results featured in North America’s Airport Leaders 2019 are sourced from OAG’s databases and covers the 12-month period from June 2018 to May 2019, versus June 2017 to May 2018.
Medium sized airports like PGD are defined as handling between 0.05% and 0.24% of scheduled departing seat capacity in North America.
