Punta Gorda Airport is adding more space and amenities for passengers, and more room for operational improvements and staff.
After the expansion is complete, PGD passengers will have more curbside space for drop-off and pickup, additional food/beverage options, more improved restrooms, a new departures concourse, and additional space for overall public circulation.
This one-story expansion does not include passenger boarding bridges (PBBs), or jetways, due to significant investments required to modify our facilities, purchase and maintain associated equipment. PGD’s gently-sloping ramps are commonly employed at many small airports that have one-story terminals or support low-cost carriers. PGD operates on a conservative budget so we can continue to attract/retain airlines that provide low-cost service options. However, if a new airline requires PBBs for daily service, we stand ready to evaluate its feasibility.
