Each year, PGD selects a couple special college students for our “Airport Operations Intern” program.  Meet Tripp Lytle and Rachelle Hargrove – two great college students working full-time this summer at PGD. They’re getting an overview of how the entire airport runs, from working outside on the ramp with aircraft and interacting with passengers at the terminal, to behind-the-scenes activities of our airside operations and office administration teams.

The internship program is jointly funded with a grant from the Florida Airports Council (FAC). FAC awards internship grants to member airports to help provide on-the-job work experience for students interested in pursuing careers in airport management, and to provide a talented workforce for Florida’s airports. Grants are awarded to airports like PGD that demonstrate a willingness and desire to employ and supervise an intern.

While this summer’s application period has expired, PGD’s management is planning to continue the college internship program in the future. Please review the internship summary to see if you might be a candidate in 2020, and be sure to check our Employment page regularly for new job postings.
