We're pleased to highlight the Civil Air Patrol's Charlotte County Composite Squadron in our "Why Fly PGD" campaign.  The Cadets are shining examples of service and leadership! The Civil Air Patrol’s (CAP) cadet program transforms youth into dynamic Americans and aerospace leaders through a curriculum that focuses on leadership, aerospace, fitness and character. As cadets participate in these four elements, they advance through a series of achievements, earning honors and increased responsibilities along the way. Spotlight on Airport Interns


Each year, PGD selects a couple special college students for our “Airport Operations Intern” program.  Meet Tripp Lytle and Rachelle Hargrove - two great college students working full-time this summer at PGD. They’re getting an overview of how the entire airport runs, from working outside on the ramp with aircraft and interacting with passengers at the terminal, to behind-the-scenes activities of our airside operations and office administration teams. The internship program is jointly funded with a grant from the Florida Airports Council (FAC). PGD’s FBO Earns Spot on Premiere Safety Map


Recognized for Best Practices in Aircraft Fueling, Service & Ground Handling Punta Gorda, FL (January 10, 2019) – The Charlotte County Airport Authority’s Fixed Base Operator (FBO) at Punta Gorda Airport (PGD) has achieved NATA Safety 1st qualified status in the last quarter of 2018 and is now listed on the NATA FBO Status Map. The National Air Transportation Association (NATA), which represents aviation businesses, developed its 'Safety 1st' program as an educational outreach and training arm to elevate the quality of FBO services and safety. Congrats to New ACE Certified Staff


Congratulations to Richard Fagar (left) and Greg Hill for earning their certifications in the ACE Airfield Lighting Maintenance program. Join us in recognizing them for completing an extensive curriculum based on FAA, U.S. military and international recommendations. The course is designed to provide detailed electrical theory and proven maintenance techniques while educating and challenging airport personnel with airfield lighting maintenance responsibilities.
