FAA Grant to Fund General Aviation Apron PUNTA GORDA, FL (Nov. 22, 2019) – The Charlotte County Airport Authority will be receiving $6 million in funding from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for construction of a new general aviation (GA) apron on the north side of the Punta Gorda Airport (PGD). Air Service Destination Survey – Initial Results Are In!

Preliminary Survey Results 1,341 people participated in PGD's Air Service Destination Survey between July 25 and Sept. 4, 2019. Of the initial 200 participants that provided email address, 63 of them have claimed their coupon for a free coffee or bottled water. Punta Gorda Airport’s management and operations teams are working to secure the airport property and make preparations for potential impacts from Hurricane Dorian. Punta Gorda Airport and its runways will remain open as long as conditions are safe.  However, if winds are sustained at ~50 MPH, aircraft operations and tower operations will cease, and we continue to follow recommendations from Charlotte County Emergency Management.
