Watch this 4-minute video featuring Charlotte County Airport Authority Commissioners, PGD staff, airport partners and tenants as they wish Punta Gorda Airport best wishes for its 75th anniversary.  This video also features a summary of the airport’s history starting with the activation of the Punta Gorda Army Airfield in 1943 –  key to training pilots for oversees duty in World War II.

75^th Anniversary Celebration

PGD is planning a celebratory event at the airport November 16 from 5-7 p.m. Registered guests will enjoy static aircraft and photo displays, hors d’oeuvres, desserts, two complimentary cocktails, a short program and parting mementos.

Individual tickets may be purchased through the Civil Air Patrol’s Charlotte Composite Squadron. Each $40 ticket purchased through the Civil Air Patrol will help youth cadets continue their skill development and aviation service. Contact 2nd Lt.
